The National Information Technology Council (NITC) meeting on 7 April 2006 has endorsed the National Cyber Security Policy (NCSP). The decision of the NITC meeting was noted by the Cabinet on 31 May 2006.

In realizing the policy, two (2) committee has been established being the National Cyber Security Coordination Committee (NC3) and the National Cyber Security Advisory Committee (NaCSAC) chaired by the General Secretary of the Ministry Of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and the Chief Secretary to the government respectively. The NC3 will update NaCSAC on matters related to cyber security.

 The NC3 meeting will be held at least twice a year and NaCSAC meeting once a year. The secretariat to these committees will be a joint effort between the ICT Policy Division (DICT) of MOSTI and CyberSecurity Malaysia.
